Last April 7, 2018, Ateneo Junior High School’s (AJHS) dance troop Indayog ng Atenistang Kabataan (IndAK) emerged as champion of Ad Astra, an inter high school dance competition held at St. Scholastica, Manila. Our boys bested dancers from Lourdes School of Mandaluyong  and Don Bosco Technical Institute. (Two dance crews from Far Eastern University Senior High School were also part of the competition line-up, but both backed out on competition day for unspecified reasons.)

The win marks the first time that AJHS IndAK has won a competition since IndAK was split up into two squads- one for  junior high and another for senior high- during schoolyear 2016-2017 as a result of the K to 12 reform.

Representing AJHS IndAK at Ad Astra were Gabby Calilung (P7-Page), Joaquin Ferrer (L10-Garnier), Juancho Garcia (P8-Pongracz), Marco Gemarino (P8-Pongracz), Pierre Hermosa (L7-Corby), Alfonso Maramba (C10-Chabanel), Josh Mateo (P9-Sitjar), and David Pinto (M10-Maunoir). They were coached by Kenneth Abela & Michael Agas of UPeepz.
