DION ONG ACHIEVES PERFECT SCORE IN INT’L MATH OLYMPIAD FOR TEENS

Representing the Philippines, Ateneo Junior High School student Dion Stephan Ong of Cardoner/10-Canisius added more medals and distinctions to his already long list of achievements as a mathlete in the recent  2017 International Teenagers Mathematics Olympiad (ITMO). Ong was recognized for being the Perfect Scorer in the Individual Category, where he was also a gold medalist. His team also emerged as champion of the Team Category while his group finished second in the Group Category.
 
Organized by the Mathematics Trainers Guild (MTG) Philippines, the ITMO was held in Lanang, Davao City from November 8-12, 2017. Close to 500 contestants and coaches from 16 countries (Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, South Africa, Russia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines) competed in the Olympiad.
