Lance Abarquez wins bronze for PH in World Math Olympiad

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School mathlete Lance Abarquez of La Storta/8-Delgado won a bronze award for the Philippines in the Secondary 1 division of the World International Mathematical Olympiad (WIMO) Final, which was held online on January 2 – 3, 2021. The WIMO is an intensive and valuable experience that exposes elite mathematics students to topics covered in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Its contest and workshops are fully sponsored by the WIMO Foundation, which brings together global mathematical societies to form a union where elite math students are trained by former IMO winners.
All gold winners from the Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) Final or Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad (TIMO) Final are invited to join the WIMO and to learn from former IMO winners.
