Ateneo is 1st runnerup in PRADA midgets basketball tourney

Consisting of players from grades 7, 8, and 9, the Ateneo midgets basketball team ended its PRADA campaign in second place after losing to San Beda University (SBU), 102-90, in the finals held last October 13, 2018. The final game was played at the Don Bosco Makati Gym. Ateneo ended the elimination round with an 8-1 record, their sole loss coming from eventual champion SBU last August. After losing to SBU, the team went on a six-game winning streak that included a victory over Xavier by 30 points last September 19, 2018. The team then faced San Beda College Alabang in the semis, and won 58-51. This win earned Ateneo the right to play against SBU in the finals.

The members of the team are Javi Adevoso (L8-Del Castillo), Judd Babaran (P8-Rubio), David Chan (P8-Regis), Stewart Chiu (C9-Berchmans), Gabby Chu (L8-Delgado), Gian Cruz (M8-Ishida), Renzo Dela Luna (P8-Regis), Chad Diokno (L8-Delgado), Quian Doroja (C8-Aranha), Joax Fidel (C8-Azevedo), Joax Geronimo (C8-Arrowsmith), Ethan Lee (P8-Pongracz), Fonzie Lumawig (P8-Regis), Paul Pagdilao (C8-Azevedo), Andrei Paguirigan (M8-Ishida), and Mikko Singson (C7-Andlauer).  They were coached by Homer Bautista (head coach), Marc Bautista, and John Paul Ycasiano.
