Nio Tria is one of Ateneo de Manila’s fast-rising lawn tennis stars. Last February, he was 14U boys singles champion of the 5th Anthony Tordesillas Memorial National Age Group Tournament. He was also a finalist in the competition’s 16U boys singles event. Last March 26, Nio and partner Michael Eala Jr. emerged as boys doubles champions of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Asia 14 & under Development Championships (division 1) held in Vietnam.

Despite the time-consuming demands placed on him as a student-athlete of the Ateneo de Manila, Nio has been a consistent honor student since his grade school days.
