Job Title: Researcher and Copy Editor
Period of Engagement: 15 March 2017 to 14 May 2017
Under the supervision of the Dean, the School of Government has drafted a book titled “Towards Zero Poverty”. The book is a comprehensive review of poverty research and experience in the Philippines for the past three decades.
The main objective of this assignment is to complete all copyediting tasks and additional research related to the book project.
|Review and edit, as needed, all chapters of the manuscript for content coherence and consistency, particularly focusing on (a) overall theme, (b) topic/ theme flow, etc., and (c) brevity and clarity (sentence, paragraph, and chapters).|
|In consultation with the Dean and the project team, address all comments provided by the reviewer.|
|Review and edit, as needed, all chapters of the manuscript for overall consistency, including but not limited to the (a) use of tenses and grammatical conventions, (b) general formatting (include table of contents, figures, tables, index, section and paragraph indents, etc.), and (c) bibliographic entries.|
|4||Ensure that the chapters follow the recommended referencing style.|
|5||Submit copies of the edits in tracked changes, both in soft and print copies.|
|Work closely with the layout artist and the project team to ensure that approved/ edited changes are reflected in the pre-press manuscript.|
|Submission of the first draft||PhP10,000.00||40% of the total payment|
|Submission of the final, print-ready draft||PhP15,000.00||60% of the total payment|
