Biography: 

Jose Arturo Cagampang De Castro graduated with 2nd Honors from the Ateneo Law School in 2003.  In 2014, he obtained his LL.M. at the University of California—Berkeley School of Law (Berkeley Law), specializing in Energy, Environment, Intellectual Property, and Technology Law. 

 

From 2003 to 2005, Atty. De Castro worked as Presidential Staff Officer VI and Director IV to the Executive Secretary, Office of the President, Republic of the Philippines.  He then worked as a public prosecutor from 2006 until his promotion as DOJ Assistant Secretary in 2009.

 

Outside of public service, Atty. De Castro practices Philippine law as a partner in the De Castro & Cagampang Law Offices. He also lectured at various institutions in Manila prior to joining the Ateneo Law School faculty roster. He is currently a J.S.D. candidate at Berkeley Law, where he is also a Teaching Assistant in their LL.M. Legal Research and Writing Program.
