Ateneans top 2018 Bar Examinations

Results of the 2018 Bar Examinations were released last Friday, 3 May 2019. The Ateneo Law School (ALS) has an overall passing rate of 86.27% (176 out of 204 takers). For first-time takers, 88.27% (158 out of 179 takers). 
 
Sean James Borja, Valedictorian of Ateneo Law School (ALS) Class of 2018, topped the exams. In addition, two other graduates of the ALS ranked in the top 10: Daniel John Fordan and Katrina Monica Gaw. Fordan and Gaw placed 4th and 5th place, respectively.

All three topnotchers are alumni of the Loyola Schools: Borja and Gaw graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Legal Management in 2014 and Fordan graduating with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 2013. 

In a memo addressed to the Ateneo community in the afternoon of May 3, Jose Maria G. Hofileña, Dean of ALS, congratulated all the passers and said: “We are extremely happy for all of our successful bar examinees and exceedingly grateful for their having brought much pride to our Ateneo Law School.”
 
“Behind the scenes was an entire caring community of faculty members, law school staff, student volunteers, student organizations, sororities and fraternities, alumni, families and friends who so generously expended time and effort in many months of bar operations,” he added. “To each one who admirably shared a part of himself or herself in this heartwarming display of bayanihan, I would like to personally extend my thanks. Indeed, this is the Ateneo Way.”
