August 08, 2019
On August 5,the Ateneo Law School (ALS) held a series of Dean’s Hour sessions for incoming sophomores, juniors and seniors. The Dean’s Hour for the freshmen was held during their OrSem last July 22.

The Dean’s Hour, held at the start of every semester, provides an opportunity for each batch to look into what lies ahead for the coming school year. For the upper year levels, it is also a time to take stock of what has been accomplished in the past.

During this semester’s Dean’s Hour, Dean Jose Maria G. Hofileña presented highlights aimed at inspiring and encouraging the students to always strive for excellence in their study of the law. The ALS’ bar performance for the past years gave a glimpse of the high expectations for Ateneo Law graduates. Diagnostic results were also shown to see were possible improvements can be made. Dean Hofileña also pointed out the efforts to decrease class size to help facilitate learning. Also of significance, he showed the increasing number of scholars in the ALS.

Dean Hofileña read out the names of, and congratulated, the students who made it to the Dean’s List for the immediately preceding semester. He also introduced new faculty members.

On a final note, Dean Hofileña, invited everyone to imbibe the spirit of community in the law school. He stressed the need to espouse Ignatian values in today’s challenged society.
