Dr. Angelita Gregorio-Medel


Expertise: Leadership Development and Social Accountability
Dr. Gregorio-Medel was formerly the Undersecretary for Institutional Development Group of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. She served as Project Director for the Affiliated Network for Social Accountability for East Asia and the Pacific of which the School is the Secretariat. Most importantly, Dr. Gregorio-Medel is instrumental in the formulation of ASoG’s Leadership Framework for Public Service.  
Her expertise includes social accountability interventions focusing on constructive engagement between citizen groups/CSOs and government counterparts and citizen monitoring.  She also conducts learning and capacity building facilitation aimed at forging shared initiatives of institutions, organizations, and groups towards development change and reform involving multi-stakeholder relations. She also specializes on areas such as outcome assessment, monitoring, and design of good governance interventions for public sector reform focused on instituting transparency, participation, and accountability; institutional, organizational, program or project development processes including coalition building and network formation as well as leadership development.
She obtained her Ph.D. in Development Sociology from the University of Bielefeld Germany as a Konrad Adenauer Stiftung scholar. She obtained her MS in Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University.
