Photo Pray: Deliverance
Today's first reading (Ez 37:12-14) speaks of the Lord's promise to His people who were deported from Jerusalem to Babylon because of a rebellion. In their long years in exile, the deportees lost their sense of identity and faith and became the so-called lost tribes of Israel. Because of their physical and communal suffering, they began to think that the Babylonian gods have defeated their God, the God of Israel. And so Ezekiel came to give the message of the Lord's deliverance to His people.
Reflection question: What "graves" - unhealthy and unhappy things, habits, situations - do you find yourself buried in? How do you want the Lord to help you rise from them?
