Prayer for Generosity for 12-D (SY 2016-17)
Adapted from “A Teacher’s Prayer for Generosity “ by Fr. Marc Fryer, S.J.
Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous;
teach me to be generous with my time, to help a classmate in need;
teach me to be generous with my patience, especially when my Mom nags me
to accomplish my ACET or UPCAT requirements;
teach me to be generous with my praise, especially when we see Mr. Hidalgo
trying his best to teach us.
Teach me to serve You as You deserve;
teach me to serve You, as our Tulong Dulong students deserve;
teach me to serve You, as my 12-D class deserves;
teach me to serve You, as my family deserves.
To give and not to count the cost,
even though I’m tired or sleepy;
even though it’s the fifth quiz for today;
even though I’d really rather do something else than do HW.
To fight and not to heed the wounds,
the wounds to my health, hindi ako tumatangkad kakapuyat;
the wounds to my social life - I don’t have any;
the wounds to my pride, especially after receiving a PNS (Parent Notification Slip).
To toil and not to seek for rest,
even when I haven’t played video games all week;
even when things are not going my way;
even when I feel like I can’t go on.
To labor and not to ask for any reward,
not even when I don’t get any awards;
not even when I don’t get additional points;
not even when I don’t get praised or a pat on the back.
but that of knowing that I do your will.
but may I just add, Lord, that you bless our parents and family members,
bless our teachers, bless all the members of 12-D that we may all graduate this school year,
that we get into the right course and the right university for ourselves.
AMEN. AMEN. AMEN.
