Special Moments
When I was in trouble, stressed or disturbed, the Gesu would be the place for me to find my bearing, to calm down and to find renewed hope and trust. Alone, I would simply sit in a corner in front of the image of Jesus and for a while just rant and share, sometimes talking softly to myself, at other times, with my voice raised a little. After this, I would feel much lighter, much better and with things making a bit more sense.
But I guess the Gesu is very special because I shared many precious moments there with someone very special. I fell in love in the Gesu. I remember being with her in that place many times from around 8:00 PM till the Ateneo lights out at 12:00 AM. We would be there - sometimes sharing stories in a whisper, sometimes in prayer and many times, simply in silence. That is when I was certain I loved her--when I could enjoy my silences with her. Nothing was spoken, there was stillness. But we both knew something special was going on between me, her and God. I guess during those times I felt I could be deserving of all the love in the world and that I could give just as much love in return.
