CORD to conduct seminar on Managing Employee Performance, June 3-4date posted: 2010-04-15 14:18:43
The Ateneo Center for Organization Research and Development (CORD) invites the community to Managing Employee Performance.
The Managing Employee Performance program is designed to provide participants with strategies and techniques on how to manage people better by enhancing intra and interpersonal skills.
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
1. recognize the role of the manager in building positive employee attitudes and organizational climate
2. list down the benefits of using counseling skills at work
3. define the process of counseling and differentiate it from other forms of helping 4. illustrate the five phases of counseling
5. explain the difference between the profession of counseling and application of counseling in the workplace
6. identify skills and qualities of an effective counselor
7. demonstrate specific counseling skills: listening, questioning, problem- solving and decision- making
8. list the value of coaching as an employee developmental process
9. identify effective coaching practices
10. illustrate the steps to be taken to structure a counseling setting, implement coaching & counseling and receive feedback on one’s counseling and coaching styles.
Module Description
Module I: The Role of the Manager
This introductory module presents the role of the manager in building a positive organizational climate and positive employee attitudes.
Module II: Counseling in Organizations
This module familiarizes participants with the 5 D model of the counseling process. Participants will also learn the different counseling techniques and how it can be applied in their respective organizations. They will be equipped with the skills and qualities needed to be an effective counselor in the workplace through role plays and group discussion.
Module III: Coaching
In this module, participants will learn to appreciate the value of coaching in the workplace and the different coaching practices. They will also be acquainted with the different steps in the coaching process specifically delegation and mentoring.
