“Leading Lady Songs from Musical Theater” will showcase iconic songs performed by lead female characters of musical plays that opened on Broadway, on West End, or in the Philippines—including Maria von Trapp(The Sound of Music), Eliza Doolittle (My Fair Lady), Maria (West Side Story), Sally Bowles (Cabaret), Velma Kelly (Chicago), Desiree Armfeldt (A Little Night Music), Evita Peron (Evita), Fantine (Les Miserables), Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard), and Olivia and Katy (Katy! The Musical), among others. 
Thrill to the music and lyrics of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, Leonard Bernstein, John Kander and Fred Ebb,  Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil, Ryan Cayabyab, and others, as interpreted by Cris Villonco (vocalist) and Krina Cayabyab (pianist)
Learn, too, about key moments in the development of musical theater in the West and in the Philippines in this concert that is being staged in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) Music Literature Elective “The Broadway Musical of the Twentieth Century.”
Five-time winner of the Philstage Gawad Buhay Awards, Cris Villonco has essayed theatrical roles that include Ophelia in Hamlet (Repertory Philippines)Zafira in Orosman at Zafira,(Dulaang UP), Mulan, Jr. in Mulan (Repertory Philippines), Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music (Atlantis Productions), Maria Clara in Noli Me Tangere: The Musical (Tanghalang Pilipino), Julia in Walang Sugat (Tanghalang Pilipino), Viola/Cesar in D' Wonder Twins of Boac (PETA), Josephine Bracken in Dear and Unhappy (Virgin Labfest 13), Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music (The Ultimate Entertainment), Alice in Closer (Red Turnip Theater), Marianne in Constellations (Red Turnip), Alison Bechdel in Fun Home (Atlantis Productions), Jennifer Honey in Matilda the Musical (Atlantis Productions), and Lavinia Arguelles in Bituing Walang Ningning: The Musicalamong others. In October 2018, she made her stage directorial debut with A Doll's House Part 2 which launched Red Turnip Theater's fifth season.
Krina Cayabyab graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor in Music, Major in Chorale Conducting, summa cum laude, from the University of the Philippines-Diliman where she is currently an instructor at the Art Studies Department. She also teaches Voice and Music Theory at the Music School of Ryan Cayabyab. In 2008, Krina joined Baihana, a singing trio that continues to perform to this day. In 2014, Krina wrote her first full-length musical, Ang Huling Lagda ni Apolinario Mabini, which was staged by Dulaang UP.
