Ateneo BS ECE students win country finals of “Go Green in the City” Competition

May 26, 2016

The Department of Electronics, Computer, and Communications Engineering would like to congratulate

Prince Aldrin Domer, 4 ECE
Sheena Fernandez, 4 ECE

for winning the country finals of Schneider Electric’s “Go Green in the City” Competition with the project concept “AeoLuminate.” Their mentor is Dr. Reese Macabebe of ECCE. The final judging and awarding ceremony was held last 16 May 2016 at the Schneider Electric Office, Bonifacio Global City. They will move on to represent the country in the East Asia Competition on 6 June 2016.

Their product, AeoLuminate, is a product innovation that banks on the physics and design of INVELOX™, and incorporates sensor integration. It envisions a step forward in addressing the challenges posed by unpredictable weather conditions to existing standalone renewable technologies, as well as the increasing need for better data on air quality for monitoring and policy-making purposes in the face of increasing greenhouse gas emissions. To that end, AeoLuminate finds its application on the four main functionalities it offers: energy harvesting, air quality monitoring, small-scale air filtering, and off-grid street-lighting.

Congratulations Aldrin and Sheena!  Good luck on the Regional Semi-Finals.
