2012 Social Entrepreneurship Conference on Enabling Social Enterprise

On November 8 and 9 the 2012 Social Entrepreneurship Conference on Enabling Social Enterprise: Harnessing Opportunities for Social Impact will be held at the Leong Hall of Ateneo de Manila University.  This conference is co-presented by Development Studies of Ateneo de Manila University, the Philippine Social Enterprise Network and the Ateneo Center for Social Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with Consuelo Foundation, the Foundation for a Sustainable Society, Oikocredit and Peace and Equity Foundation.

Jim Ayala, Philippine Entrepreneur of the Year and Chairman of the Solar Energy Foundation will be one of the speakers of the said conference. He will also be joined by AukeIdzenga, Management Committee Head of Alternative Indigenous, Anna Meloto-Wilk, President of the GandangKalikasan Inc, (Human Nature), Social Entrepreneur of the Year finalist, Mark Ruiz of MIcroventuresInc (Hapinoy), and Edwin Salonga of Social Enterprise Development Partnership Inc., Raya Papp Head of the Corporate Finance Team of Impact Team   based in Singapore and Cong. Teddy Casiño, Chairman of the Small Business and Enterprise Development Committee of the House of the Representatives.

The conference will focus on the opportunities available to social enterprises to enhance their social impact. It will cover four key opportunities available to the Philippine social enterprises; financing opportunities for social enterprises, the Social Enterprise Bill, technology and social entrepreneurship and partnership opportunities with government.
