Last 10 January, the Ateneo Biological Organization - eXplore. eXperience. eXcel. (BOx) held the 3rd Ateneo Biology Cup (ABC), one of the most competitive biology quiz bees in Metro Manila and the only such program hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University. Seventeen teams from nine Universities gathered at the Escaler Hall to test their knowledge in the biological sciences.

Aside from providing a venue for friendly competition among the country's best young minds, ABC is also a platform for BOx's core thrust of promoting biodiversity awareness and appreciation. Among Metro Manila's top biology quiz competitions, ABC is unique in that Philippine Biodiversity is one of the categories of questions from the elimination to the final round. These questions provide current and pertinent information on biodiversity and conservation concerns in our country.

This year's Champion team was from the University of Santo Tomas (UST), which also won the 1st ABC. The team won a plaque, medals, a cash prize, and the grand revolving ABC Trophy, which moves from one Champion school to the next per year. The first runner-up was another team from UST, while a team from University of the Philippines-Manila placed third.
