This briefing will provide an analysis of the past 2 1/2 years of the Duterte Administration based on how the 10-point economic plan and the PDP 2017-2022 have been implemented. It will provide a perspective of the economic gains and the challenges being faced in the light of the implementation of the TRAIN law, the mid-term elections in May 2019, the fluid global geo-political environment as shown by wild swings in oil prices and the US-China Trade War. It will also consider how the government addressed inflation and what are the policies and programs needed to keep it in check. It will try to answer how the remaining tranches of the tax reform could affect the economy as well as the push on Federalism.

Finally, the briefing will give a short term outlook on the fiscal balance, interest rates, exchange rates, inflation, jobs, business expansion and other monetary indicators used for investments and business planning.
