Ateneo is 1st runner-up of Hardeman Basketball Tournament

Consisting of players from Ateneo Senior High School grade 11,  the Ateneo MMBL (Metro Manila Basketball League) team finished in second place in the 2017 Hardeman Basketball tournament that was concluded last January 21, behind eventual champion Faith Academy.  Two Ateneans- Jerome Nepomuceno (11-Goto) and Gabe Laud (11-Bellarmine) both made the All Tournament Team (boys division 1) roster.  Team Ateneo is composed of Grade 11 students (above photo from left) Carlo Lopa, Emilio Daez, Kyroe Ong, Gabe Laud, Carlos Agpoon, Allen Tañedo, Raja Gusi, Kean Herrera, Jerome Nepomuceno, RV Evardone and Andre Bernal. Not in the photo are George Baldwin and coaches Reggie Varilla, Sammy Belangel and Aris Manalo.

Other schools which participated in the tournament that was hosted by Faith Academy Manila from January 18 – 21, 2017 were International School Manila, San Beda College, St. Stephen, and GRS Montessori.
