SWIMMER JOLO VIOVICENTE OF 8-CLAVER WINS 5 GOLD MEDALS AT PALARONG PAMBANSA

Ateneo de Manila Junior High School student Emilio “Jolo” Viovicente of 8-Claver revealed himself as one on the country’s finest swimmers at the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa. Swimming for Team NCR in the elementary boys division, Jolo won a total of six medals at the games which were held from May 2 to 10 in Laguna. Jolo’s five gold medals were won for the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 200m freestyle relay, and the 400m freestyle relay, where Jolo and his teammates also established a new Palaro record. In addition to these 5 gold medals, Jolo also won a silver medal in the 200m individual medley. Jolo’s medal tally was unmatched in the elementary boys swimming events at Palarong Pambansa. As his coach Aldo Tong said, "Jolo Viovicente would have won the Most Outstanding Swimmer of his division if there had been (such) an award.” Competing for the NCR, AJHS student Emilio Viovicente took home a total of six medals at Palarong Pambansa 2014- five gold and one silver.
