Dr. Alvin P. Ang is a faculty member of Economics Department of the Ateneo de Manila University. In 2013, he served as President of the Philippine Economic Society. He also served as a consultant for USAID, World Bank, World Health Organization, Asian Development Bank, and the International Labor Organization (Philippines and Bangkok). His publications include “How are APEC members faring in ease of doing business?”, Progress of the Implementation of Recommendations adopted at the 3rd-6th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour Meetings, Gender-Sensitive Remittances and Asset Building in the Philippines, and Gender, Migration and Development in the Philippines.

He acquired his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Santo Tomas, Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the National University of Singapore, and Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Osaka University.
