DOD Course 1: Certificate in the Foundations of Organization Development

This is an introductory course that aims to equip the participants with a working knowledge on the core theories, assumptions, and values of Organization Development as well as a practical understanding of the full OD consulting cycle.

Course Outline

Module I: Overview of Organization Development

In this introductory module, the participants will discuss the definition of Organization Development: its field boundaries, key characteristics, and relationship with Human Resource Management and Development, as well as Change Management.

Module II: The OD Consulting Cycle

This module will on providing understanding on the breadth of the OD Consulting Cycle. The participants will be engaged in discussions on the different types of clients and the different consulting phases, tasks, and questions.

Module III: The OD Practitioner

In this module, the participants will go through the different facets of being an OD Practiioner: the roles one can play and the competencies required. This module will also address the importance of the Use of Self as an OD Practitioner.
