Lomibao and Navarro win golds for PH in HOTS math competition

Recent Ateneo de Manila Grade School graduates Alphan Lomibao (6-Xavier in school year 2020-2021) and Magnus Navarro (6-Bellarmine) both won medal awards for the Philippines in the Upper Primary division of the 2021 HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) Mathematics and Science Competitions, which were held online on June 26 and 27, 2021. Alphan won a gold award in the Math competition and a distinction award in the Science competition, while Magnus won a gold award in the Math competition.  

Filipino math and science wizards harvested a total of 189 gold, silver, and bronze certificates, 167 distinction certificates, and 178 merit certificates in the competition. Of this total, our mathletes garnered 28 gold, 45 silver, and 60 bronze certificates, plus 98 distinction and 94 merit certificates in the math competition, while our “young Einsteins” scooped 12 gold, 21 silver, and 23 bronze certificates, on top of the 69 distinction and 64 merit certificates in the science competition.
